Dream Telepathy Contest

Dream Telepathy Contest

Saturday evening, immediately after the Keynote, a dream Telepathy contest will be co-hosted by Robert Waggoner and Angel Morgan in the same room as the Keynote. Begun in 1985 by Bob Van de Castle and Rita Dwyer, the contest had become an annual event. Many contestants have exhibited impressive psi dreaming skills – often to their surprise! Don’t miss this exciting and FUN opportunity to explore the fascinating world of dream psi.

Try your Psi! Test your dreaming mind’s ability to tune in to a visual target image that will be broadcast telepathically during the night by a designated “sender.” Loosely patterned on the cutting-edge experiments in dream telepathy conducted at Maimonides Dream Laboratory by Drs. Stanley Krippner and Montague Ullman, the annual IASD contest offers a playful way to test your dream telepathy skills. Come, learn the rules, and join in the serious fun.

2019 IASD Telepathy Contest

INVITATION:  You Are Cordially Invited to Attend IASD’s Dream Telepathy Contest

WHEN:  Saturday, June 22nd, 9:30 PM (21:30), immediately following the keynote

WHERE:  Aula Major, Rolduc Conference Centre, Kerkrade, The Netherlands

What is it? The Dream Telepathy contest reproduces, in simplified form, the groundbreaking experiments of Drs. Montague Ullman and Stanley Krippner performed at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and reported in their book, Dream Telepathy Experiments in Nocturnal ESP. Robert Van de Castle, who successfully participated as a telepathic receiver in the original research at Maimonides, initiated this contest with the help of Rita Dwyer at the IASD Conference in 1985. And the rest, as they say, is history.

What is the contest procedure? From a pool of four visual targets enclosed in sealed envelopes, a person designated as the “telepathic sender” selects one envelope at random and opens it later in private. During the night and early morning, the sender attempts to telepathically broadcast the selected picture using the power of his/her mind to participants who intend to dream of the target image.

Participating dreamers go to sleep with the intention to dream of the target image and then recall and record their dreams. On Sunday morning after 9:00 AM the entire pool of four pictures will be displayed in a public area – but only one is the Target Image. Participants will decide the picture they think their dreams have identified as the target. ***All entries are due by 6:00 PM (18:00) Sunday, June 23rd.

What are the results? Over the years we’ve learned that participants have experienced a great deal of success.  It appears participants sometimes dream of the target image’s theme, emotional content, colors, setting and place. Even more importantly, we have found intriguing commonalities in symbols and themes among dreamers who may or may not have hit on the target, but who definitely have been picking up dream symbols from the sender – or other dreamers. Participants have stated that they had great fun while discovering and honing their own unique dream telepathy skills!

How will we know who won? Judges will examine the entries. Winners will be announced at the Dream Ball on Tuesday night! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely yours,

Angel Morgan and  Robert Waggoner

Special thanks – to Stanley Krippner, Montegue Ullman, Robert Van de Castle, and Rita Dwyer for laying the groundwork and navigating the path forward for telepathy dream explorers everywhere.
