Call for Volunteers

Sunday to Thursday 17 to 21 July 2022   (15 & 16 July setup)

The Venue is the spectacular Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, in Tucson, Arizona, USA. ‘Ventana’, or ‘Window’ to the Soul of the Sonoran Desert, is Loews Ventana Canyon. Discover a magical perspective of Tucson’s Catalina Mountains, where this stunning natural retreat offers a variety of activities, signature services and experiences to relax, energize and inspire guests. The conference begins Sunday 17 July 2022 and runs through Thursday 21 July 2022 at which time all volunteers will be needed – including a few volunteers for setup on Friday and Saturday the 15th and 16th. With room rates at $115 and meals on your own in the restaurants, it promises to be a relatively inexpensive one to attend, particularly at such a high end resort.  It is accessible from the Tucson  International Airport in Arizona, which has direct flights from such city hubs as Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Dallas Ft Worth, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and more. You can find details on the conference, the venue, pictures, and preliminary registration fees and accommodation information at www.iasdconferences.org/2022/

Volunteers attend the conference for $100 by working about half the conference session hours (roughly 14 hours). The initial registration fee is $200 although half ($100) of the fee is returned after the duties are completed. This fee covers the conference attendance, all receptions and the dream ball. Volunteers must arrange for their own travel as well as lodging and meals, CE fees, recordings, and any separately priced special events they wish to attend.

The duties are consolidated into 4 categories: Registration/Info Desk; Room Monitor; and Audio Visual Support and Art Exhibition.  If you wish to volunteer, click here to apply

Once you apply you will be sent a letter of acceptance if there is a position open.  That letter will have a deadline in it by which you must register and pay the deeply discounted volunteer which is non-refundable after that deadline (except in extreme circumstances; also an administrative fee may apply). The deadline is typically about 60 to 90 days or so after approval but is shortened as we get closer to conference time with an ultimate deadline of 15 March when we must finish the schedule. Apply early since acceptance is determined by a combination of application date and available positions. If positions fill, a waiting list will be maintained and those on that list will be offered a position if an accepted volunteer does not register or cancels.

You may address any volunteer related questions to Julie Sparrow ( jrsparrow22@gmail.com ) or problems with the online or registration system to Richard Wilkerson ( office@asdreams.org ).
