There are now two planned hikes. The initial pre-reserved hike, led by Alan Siegel, is overbooked and sold out but you can Sign Up for the second Hike lead by Curt Hoffman.

If you had pre-reserved a box dinner on your registration form, then you are on the list for the initial (Siegel) hike but you can choose to switch if you wish. For those without pre-reserved box meals bring your own food to nosh, as the hike spans the dinner hour. You may be able to purchase carry-out from the hotel or can buy food from shops and restaurants locally. Please see the signup forms at registration to confirm your hike choices.

These dream-sharing hikes are a chance to socialize and commune with nature and experience the plants, birds, and exquisite views. The nearby First Landing State Park has varied ecosystems including cypress swamp, salt marsh, maritime forest, freshwater wetlands, dunes, and Cape Henry Bay shoreline.

Hike #1 – the hike lead by Alan Siegel will begin at the entry to the First Landing State Park where you will hike approximately 3 miles or so within the park. You will be taken there by the hotel shuttle but capacity is limited so we are asking for a bit of car-pooling help by those who have cars.

Hike #2 – the hike lead by Curt Hoffman will begin at the hotel where you will hike down the beach about 0.7 miles to the entry to the First Landing State Park and enter the park for an additional mile or so of hiking in the park, then return along the beach.

For Both Hikes: meet with Alan Siegel or Curt Hoffman on Sunday at 4:15 PM sharp in the Horizons near the registration desk. If you purchased a box dinner it will be there for you at that time. Those on the first pre-reserved hike will depart by shuttle however those with cars will likely be needed to car-pool to help with the overflow. Those on the second hike down the beach will leave on foot from the hotel. Please wear shoes that work for sand or trails, bring a windbreaker, hat, water, camera, sketch book or binoculars.

FROM THE FOUNDER OF THE IASD NANCY BRZESKI ART AWARDS…

passionate art book by Nancy BrzeskiA New Book Exploring Her Art

From the Preface by Rita Dwyer:

“This lovely book exemplifies a strong woman’s determination in her search for wholeness and healing, for gaining freedom to become more attuned to her own talents and through her artistic expression developing creative new ways of seeing and being in her world while honoring the past that led her to her life today. Teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, dreamer, friend, patroness of artists, Nancy Richter Brzeski combines all these energies within her waking and dreaming worlds.

This book is not yet in print but a copy will be available for your review at the art exhibit.

Dream Ball
Tuesday evening, June 25

The conference concludes with the ever popular and traditional Dream Ball. Come dressed as your favorite dream-inspired character and prepare to share an evening filled with FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

The Dream Ball begins with the dream-inspired costume parade where all respectfully listen to the recounting of the dream which inspired the costumes while the judges are making their assessments. Then be prepared to dance the night away with international recording artist, DARYL DAVIS and the Daryl Davis Band.  Awards for Best Costumes in different categories are announced during the band’s break.

In the spirit of celebrating the 30th Anniversary of IASD there will be a special free photo booth at the Dream Ball. IASD wishes to give a special thanks to DreamsCloud for sponsoring this fun addition to the Annual Dream Ball.

Get your dancing shoes ready as Daryl Davis and his band join us for a night that will have your fingers and toes tapping and your head bob, bob, bobbing along. Premier musician, Daryl Davis jammed with Bill Clinton at his inaugural ball and has played with all the best musicians including Bruce Hornsby, Eric Clapton, Dolly Parton, Keith Richards, Ray Charles, Billy Joel and BB King to name just a few. We are thrilled to have him join us on this special night, which you are not going to want to miss.

The Psi Dream Contest

Once again this year, Bob Van de Castle and Rita Dwyer (assisted by Bobbie Ann Pimm) will be facilitating a Psi Dream Contest (formerly a Dream Telepathy contest).  You won’t want to miss this FUN opportunity to Try Your Psi as you try to dream with other dreamers about an image a Sender (TBD) will be transmitting during the night.  Winners are announced during the Dream Ball.
