Evening Receptions • There are two formal receptions, the Opening Reception on Friday evening after the opening keynote, in the Sunset Ballroom and Tradewinds, and the Arts Reception on Sunday evening in the Cape Henry Arts Exhibition area.  Each reception will have complementary bulk beverages, snacks and a pay bar. For paid full conference attendees, IASD provides two complimentary drink tickets found in your badge holder (for either alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks).  At 6:30 pm, before the Arts Reception, there is a special 90 minute “Meet the Dream Artist One on One” opportunity to meet with the exhibiting artists.  There is also a private “thank you” reception on Monday evening for Presenters and Volunteers in Tradewinds.

Psi Dreaming Contest • Saturday evening, immediately after the Keynote. Don’t miss the Psi Dream Contest hosted by Dale Graff in the same room as the Keynote.  IASD’s annual Psi Dreaming Contest, carries on a tradition begun in 1985 by Bob Van de Castle, who instituted the first Dream Telepathy Contest.  In previous years contestants who may not have even realized that they have these abilities, have exhibited impressive psi dreaming skills, including precognition, remote viewing, lucid dreaming, and even mutual dreaming.  Whether you’ve participated in psi dreaming contests before or not, don’t miss this exciting and FUN opportunity to explore the fascinating world of dream psi!

Dream Hikes to the First Landing State Park Sunday afternoon from 4:15 PM to 8:00 PM. There are two planned hikes:  a longer hike (about 3-4 miles) led by Alan Siegel and a shorter hike (about 1 1/2 miles) led by Curt Hoffman. Hikers can also create their own variations and length, as the trails begin within walking distance of the hotel. To receive a box dinner you would have had to pre-reserve one during your pre-conference registration.  However, having ordered a dinner is not required in order to join the hike.  For those without pre-reserved box meals, bring your own food to nosh, as the hike spans the dinner hour. You may be able to purchase carry-out from the hotel or can buy food from shops and restaurants locally.  For both hikes: Meet with Alan Siegel and Curt Hoffman on Sunday at 4:15 PM sharp in the Horizons room near the registration desk (look for the sign). If you purchased a box dinner it will be there for you at that time with the type of meal and your name on the box. Please wear shoes that work for sand or trails, and bring a windbreaker, raincoat (depending on the forecast), hat, water, camera, sketch book or binoculars.   For more information about the hike / environment and reviews from other travelers click here >>>

Universal Dream Dance Circle: Sunday Evening 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM with Craig Webb in Sunset A.   You are warmly welcomed to an interactive community song/dance circle blending cultural traditions, and celebrating life and dreams through movement and music. Enjoy friendly faces and charge up your physical and dream bodies with lots of lucid dream energy! Absolutely no previous experience required (so please ignore your inner critic!)

Don’t Miss the Dream Ball and Costume Parade • Come dressed as your favorite dream character or just come… but you won’t want to miss this 31-year tradition. The event begins at 7:15 with a costume parade and contest where you are encouraged to come dressed as your favorite dream character and perhaps win a prize for your creativity! Music and dancing begins after the costume parade at 9:00 PM and the dancing goes to Midnight. Certificates will be awarded at the break for the best costumes in various dream categories. In your registration bag you will find a sheet of instructions and a form that you need to fill out and bring with you if you want to participate in the contest.

Get your dancing shoes ready as Bigger Dream joins us for a night that will have your fingers and toes tapping and your head bob, bob, bobbing along.
