DREAM

I enter an elder woman’s apartment and I am surprised to find an unusual pet. Is it a shark? A snake? When I get closer, I see a small black jaguar. She says, “please take him home for the evening.” Once home, he wants a bath, so I put him in my large sink. Then I comb him carefully, saving each hair. I blend the hair with water, make a tea, and drink it. When I return the jaguar, the elder says she never thought to make jaguar tea. “Perhaps I will make you some one day,” I reply.

​This piece was inspired by a dream I had of falling into the black Void. I was gently falling and fully surrendering to the process. I was ok with Whatever was waiting for me at the end of the fall. I woke up while still falling.
